Jolly Buoy Island

Jolly Buoy Island

Jolly Buoy Island, a gem in South Andaman, offers a unique and unexplored experience for nature lovers and adventure seekers. Located 30 km from Wandoor Beach, this small islet is part of the Mahatma Gandhi National Park's Marine Sanctuary, along with Red Skin Island. The island has a thick, jungle-like forest that covers most of it, about 70%. It's a great place to go on a little hike with a guide.

As a protected area, Jolly Buoy is a no-plastic zone. Visitors must submit a list of all plastic items they carry and are prohibited from leaving any plastic or belongings on the island.

The waters surrounding Jolly Buoy are shallow and crystal clear, providing a stunning view of the seabed and its inhabitants.

The best way to visit Jolly Buoy is to take a boat from Wandoor, a journey that takes about 1.5 hours from the airport. Because of the great demand, it is best to buy boat tickets in advance. The island is open only for six months, from June to September. Visiting hours are from 8 A.M. to 2 P.M., and permission from the forest department is required for independent snorkelling.

At Jolly Buoy, you can try out different water activities like snorkelling and taking a ride in a glass-bottom boat. The water is so clear, and wide variety of marine life, making it a great place for people who love snorkeling. And with the glass-bottom boat, you can see everything under the water without even getting wet!

For a seamless trip, we at Andaman Shells will make sure to gather the necessary permissions, book boat tickets, and plan a perfect trip for you.

Jolly Buoy Island is like a hidden gem in nature, so go and explore this beautiful piece of land with Andaman shells covering the itinerary and filling up every necessity.
